How do I participate in the 2023 Tails on The Trails?
- Register here
- Donate through this website or directly to SPCA Cincinnati
- If donating directly to SPCA Cincinnati be sure to note that it is for Tails on the Trail to receive your bag
- Join or create a "Fundraising Pack" to increase your contribution to Tails on the Trail
- Enter the Tails on the Trail Doggie Costume Contest
- Must be registered for Tails on the Trail to participate in Costume Constest
What are the registration fees?
- Registration is $25, but there is a discounted fee of $20 if you register before September 1st
What is an Animal Advocate?
- This year, we invite you to become an Animal Advocate Leader! What do you need to do to be a Leader? It’s easy; simply raise $100! Every Animal Advocate Leader that reaches the $100 level will get a special paw lapel pin and will help lead our Walk!

What do I do with cash and checks that I collect?
- Please send all cash and checks to the address above along with the linked Offline Donation Form and/or a letter signifying what team and or individual these donations will be attributed to.
How do I add cash and checks to my online total?
- Under “My Donations” on your Fundraising Dashboard you can add all cash and checks you have received. They will show up as “Unverified Offline” donations and will count towards your unofficial total. After SPCA Cincinnati receives these donations, sent with the linked Offline Donation Form and/or letter signifying who these donations will be attributed to, staff will move the donations over to “Verified Offline” donations and they will then count towards your official total.
This is my first time fundraising – do you have tips?
- Yes! We have a 2023 Fundraising Ideas Booklet that you can use and also inspirational stories to motivate your friends and to support your fundraising effort.
Is the walk wheelchair accessible?
- Because the path is a natural path with lots of grassy terrain, it is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
Is the event weather dependent?
- No, Tails on the Trail is a rain or shine event
How do I recieve the Swag bag and/or T-shirt I purchased?
- All Swag Bags and T-Shirts will be available for pickup at the Registration Tent on the morning of the event
- If you ordered a T-shirt and/or bag and are not able to attend the pick up date, you can come to the front desk of the shelter when we are open to receive your items
Can I adopt animals during the Walk?
- Adoptable animals will not be at the event, but if you are interested in adopting one of the animals you see please go to spcacincinnati.com/adopt/ and set up an adoption application for the animal you're interested in. One of our great staff members will contact you within 24 hours to set up an appointment.
I want to be a sponsor or a vendor at the Walk, how do I do that?

Rules to Remember
- Dogs must be kept under control at all times. Unruly participants will be asked to leave
- All Dogs must be leashed, licensed and have complete up to date vaccinations and rabies shots
- Dogs not trained to walk on a leash must be properly confined in a carrier
- Please do not bring female dogs in heat or dogs needing a muzzle
- Water will be served community bowl style. If you require a separate drinking container for your pet, please bring one
- Be prepared to clean up after your pet
- No retractable leashes
- If you don't have a leash, we will have a limited number of leashes available to purchase
