Many of you know just how much I love racing, North Carolina, CO based Furniture Row Racing and Martin Truex Jr., as well as shopping :). All of these worlds came together when I discovered my favorite boutique in NC a number of years back. I later learned that the boutique was owned by Sherry Pollex which made me love it even more. I started to follow more about her work with children who were fighting cancer and was absolutely amazed by her.

Fast forward a few years, during which I, of course, continued to follow FRR closely and continued to support my favorite NC boutique from CO. This was about the time when a family friend was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Shortly after that, Sherry Pollex was unfortunately diagnosed as well. As I watched these two truly fight for their lives, it became more and more apparent that there simply needs to be awareness spread about this awful disease. With few symptoms to increase the chances of early detection, it is critical that women are aware of what to watch for and how to be their own advocates when they know something is not quite right with their bodies. 

I am so thankful that Sherry is staying strong in her fight and doing things like this event to help spread awareness about this awful disease. I continue to be amazed by her strength. In an effort to help spread the word, I'll be cycling in Colorado with my heart very much in North Carolina during this event! I'd be so very appreciative of your support in helping me reach my goal. Please help me spread awareness about ovarian cancer, and please, don't ignore symptoms that you or a loved one may be experiencing.
