On April 26, I will be lacing up my running sneakers and heading to Philly to take part in a meaningful 5K run to support the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation and raise vital funds for ovarian cancer research, awareness, and support. This event couldn’t be closer to my heart as I am running in memory of my sister Jodie, whose courageous battle with ovarian cancer has inspired us all. As I lace up my shoes, I know I will deeply feel the weight of her absence but hope that it will be overshadowed by the purpose I carry with every stride. This race isn’t just about finishing the course; it’s about honoring her spirit, her fight, and the way she touched the lives of everyone around her. With each step, I run not only for awareness and research, but for all the moments we shared, for the sister that had my back no matter what life threw my way, for the steadfast love and support she provided me every day, even in the toughest of times, and for my best friend, confidant and unwavering pillar of strength. The goal of raising funds for a cause that meant so much to her fills me with strength, reminding me that this race is more than just a run—it’s a tribute to the love, the bond, and the hope that will continue to guide me in her memory. By supporting me, you are not only honoring her legacy but also helping to make a difference in the lives of those affected by this devastating disease.
