Working as the Development and Annual Fund Coordinator at the Chesapeake Conservancy is truly a joy. Every day, I get to play a part in helping protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
One of the best parts of this job is being part of such a thoughtful, smart, and motivated team. On the Development Team, we collaborate closely, support each other, and genuinely enjoy celebrating wins—big or small. And beyond the development team, the staff at Chesapeake Conservancy are beyond wonderful to work with. Everyone here is incredibly knowledgeable, dedicated, and grounded in a shared mission. It’s inspiring to be surrounded by people who care deeply and work hard, whether they’re restoring stream buffers, mapping landscapes with high-tech tools, or expanding public access to the outdoors.
It’s meaningful work, done in good company. I feel lucky to be part of it.

The Chesapeake Bay Watershed is the largest estuary in North America, supporting 18 million people and over 3,600 plants and animals. Yet these valuable lands are under constant threat, losing an average of 54 acres of forest each day and additional lands to development and water level rise. These are special places where families make memories, wildlife thrives and where history runs deep.
Chesapeake Conservancy is dedicated to preserving these special places for generations to come so that all may enjoy and biodiversity can flourish. They are using ground breaking data to identify valuable lands to protect and enact sound conservation policy in addition to restoring impaired streams.
