Our Crew
We are an amazing crew of Kids and volunteers in the Ready, Set, Goal! program with Future Possibilities for Kids. We invite you to stand strong with us.
During this time of uncertainty and change, we are supporting the well-being of children through hope and connection.
Every week, our KidCoach volunteers speak with a Kid from an underserved community over the phone, listening to their dreams and challenges, asking them how they want to change the world, letting them know that they matter and that they care about them. By the end of the program, these Kids will complete a meaningful community service project, building their confidence and leadership along the way.
Now more than ever, we need to stand strong with Kids.
We are aiming to raise funds to support 1 Kid in the Ready, Set, Goal! program who will be able to connect with a KidCoach volunteer every week. That's one more changemaker who will stand up for what is right.
Will you stand strong with Kids?
Our Stories!
Crew Captain Nabeel Rahim
I first joined Future Possibilities as a kid coach close to 12 years ago. I was introduced to the program from a colleague and after learning about the organization and that they helped children think outside of the box, I was all in.
My kid at the time was being bullied at school and his goal was to start a anti bullying campaign where if kids were being bullied, they had an outlet to talk to someone.
I would listen over the activity days and calls that we had with each other and how he would come up with ideas, his reasoning and helped him organize these thoughts towards this inspiring goal. I was thrown back at times because at his age, I did not have his level of insight or his passion.
Once all his laid out plans and ideas came together the anti bullying campaign was born. He was helping his fellow classmates and community.
Helping all these kids with their bullying issue had given him more confidence and made him fearless. So, he confronted the bully and told him that he made him feel.
After this the bully stopped! The bully did not know he made him feel bad, he thought it was a game they were playing, and he told him he was sorry. The bully stopped bullying him and they become friends and since then blossomed into a great friendship!
Going back through the steps, my kid took, I would have been scared to do what he did at that age. I shared this with him after and I told him that he should feel very proud of himself because he had an idea that he followed through to an amazing goal and a new friendship!
Since that first year, I have always been an avid support of Future Possibilities for Kids. What these kids get out of the program cannot be calculated in a dollar figure, but the skills they pickup and the skills they hone from when they started the program to when they graduate is remarkable.
This program is making the kids responsible for their own success and when that happens it changes their life for the better that is what keeps bringing back to this great organization!
