Did you know that 54% of children in our community live below the poverty line and can’t afford basic school supplies? This means 1 in 2 local students start school without the essentials they need to feel included and succeed in the classroom.

To make a positive impact on these students, we’re partnering with Classroom Central to ensure that all local students have what they need to succeed. Classroom Central supports over 162,000 students and their teachers in 248 high-need schools, across six regional school districts, and provides them with free school supplies and classroom resources.

Despite the efforts of Classroom Central, the need is our community is not decreasing. Every day, more people move the the Charlotte region, and additional students and families require their assistance. To meet this ever-growing demand, their goal is to collect 1,000,000 supplies - all of which will be distributed directly to local students!

The Global Renewable Energy Credit team will host a school supply drive for Classroom Central with a goal of collecting monetary donations and listed supply items, running from April 2nd, 2025 through May 2nd, 2025.
