In an effort to support local educators and students, The City of Charlotte Working Parents Employee Resource Network has launched a school supply drive, partnering with Classroom Central. This drive helps alleviate the stress on parents and caregivers who are unable to provide these key items for their students. It also supports teachers, who need the support of parents and caregivers to ensure the success of all children. Our network envisions:
A City of Charlotte environment where all employees are supported and have access to resources to help balance having a family and a career.
A safe place where employees can share and suggest best practices, resources and policies that support working parents.
An environment where employees can meet and connect with other working parents or caregivers to socialize and informally discuss topics affecting them.
The City of Charlotte to be viewed as a great place to work because it supports employees and their families.
Not only are we supporting city of charlotte employees, who have children in schools across the region, but with this drive, we are supporting all working parents and teachers in the area.

Without basic supplies like pencils and books, children living in poverty face greater barriers to learning than their classmates.
