I'm raising money for Turning Points Network!
Heya! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
With a little less than a month to go, Liv & I are still trying to meet our goal and raise $500 for Turning Points Network's annual event, "Steppin' Up to End Violence".
For those that are unfamiliar with my agency, allow me to give you a brief description of the services we offer:
- Prevention education// Our PE team works with the schools, local libraries, and various other nonprofits in Sullivan County, teaching our youth how to identify healthy versus unhealthy relationships and what it means to be a by-stander, and the impact one can make.
- Peer support// Our advocates are here to listen! We will never cast judgement or tell you what you should or should not do - we will only provide you with your options. Survivors can feel confident knowing that we will always be there when the time is right.
- Court advocacy// Filing court paperwork can be scary for a number of reasons. The Direct Services Team can work with you through that process and let you know what to expect. Whether it be a protection order, an emergency custody order, divorce, and/or a parenting plan, we are here to help!
- Safety planning// We take all survivors stories and experiences at face value, and our main goal is to keep you safe. Our DSA team is trained to assist in creating a plan that is personalized and realistic for any survivor looking to flee a violent relationship/situation.
- Emergency shelter// TPN manages and operates an emergency DV shelter here in Sullivan County. This service is for folks/families that are currently fleeing domestic or sexual violence and those who are experiencing homelessness upon fleeing. Each shelter guest is paired with an advocate that aims to empower and aid them in meeting their goals.
- Housing resources// Many survivors are looking for safe housing options but may not know where to start. We are available to help take that pressure off! Our knowledge of and connection with various community resources, along with our financial readiness program can provide survivors with the extra support they need to move forward.
24 Hour Crisis Line// Our mission stays priority, even when no one's in the office! TPN's full-time staff (9 of us total) take turns covering weekly, rotating "on-call" shifts to ensure someone always answers in a survivors time of need.
With the current threats to federal funding right now, we need your help to be able to give help! Please consider donating below if you are able.
