NF has affected our family in a multitude of ways. All three Austin girls have been diagnosed with the genetic disorder, making participation in fundraisers like Steps2Cure a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts.
As is the nature of NF, all three girls have been affected differently. Emily (age 33) has had plexiform Neurofirbomas removed through surgery. Rory (age 3) has worked through a gross motor delay and had to work really hard in physical therapy to learn to walk. Eleanor (age 7) was reccently diagnosed with two low grade optic gliomas that will require continued monitoring.
The money raised will support the mission of NF Northeast, funding patient support programs, advocacy efforts, and cutting edge research, and will provide hope and help to individuals and families impacted by NF. Every step we take brings us closer to better treatments, increased awareness, and a brighter future—thank you for your support!
