About Steps2Cure NF
Steps2Cure NF is more than a walk - it's a powerful movement of hope and support for those affected by neurofibromatosis. Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic condition that causes tumors to grow on the nerves throughout the body. While most tumors are non-cancerous, they can sometimes affect the skin, bones, hearing, or other parts of the body. There are three main types of NF - NF1, NF2, and Schwannomatosis - each with different symptoms and challenges.
Why We Walk
We walk to support everyone living with Neurofibromatosis and to fund research for better treatments and a cure. Each step we take brings hope, awareness and strength to those affected.
We walk for Jace, celebrating his courage. We walk to show him - and all of those with NF - that they are not alone. Our buddy Jace was diagnosed with NF1 in April of 2021. Watching Jace grow has shown us what true strength and bravery looks like. Now it's our turn to show him strength, the strength to join together and make a difference. I am so honored to be participating in Erie's first ever Steps2Cure NF Walk and I invite you to join my team, Jace's Pace, as we take our first steps together. By joining us, you'll help fund NF Northeast's essential programs that provide patient support, advocate for better treatments, and drive research, making a real difference in the lives of individuals and families facing this challenging disorder.
