Neurofibromatosis (NF) is not just something I’ve read about—it’s something my family lives with. My son Jameson, my husband Johnathan, and my father-in-law John Geary have all been affected by this genetic condition that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body.
As a parent, there is nothing harder than knowing your child may face pain, uncertainty, and challenges you can’t simply fix. As a spouse, it’s watching someone you love carry something that has no easy answers. And as part of a family touched across generations, it’s the constant reminder that NF doesn’t just impact one person—it impacts everyone who loves them.
But we are not powerless. Every step I take is for Jameson’s future. It’s for better treatments, for more answers, and for the hope that one day NF won’t define the lives of the people I love.
