I ask for your thoughtful and generous support of my efforts, as Walk4Leah team captain, NF Northeast volunteer board member, and neurofibromatosis (NF) patient advocate, to bring better treatments, programs which improve everday life, and a network of experts in the care of individuals and families impacted by NF.
Team Walk4Leah will once again be stepping it out with Steps2Cure NF for my niece and human extraordinaire, Leah. And we can't forget her faithful companion, service dog and canine extraordinaire, Dasher. My aim is to hit my $1,000 target! You can help me get there and here's why it's a wonderful opportunity to consider my cause:
Leah was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis-type 2 related schwannomatosis (NF2) at 7 years old. She met this disorder head on, learning as much as she could while listening to her parents and doctors explain its symptoms, complications, risky surgeries and chemotherapy treatment plans that she was, or would be experiencing.
Even at a young age, Leah was determined to live her best life and help others with NF do the same. She has sold bracelets, volunteered at fundraising events, advocated for federal research funding, spread awareness at schools, spoken at medical conferences and run in charity events, all to support her NF community and NF Northeast, the organization that has been by her's and her family's side since 2006. NF Northeast, serving nine states including NY, has introduced Leah to expert physicians and researchers, support programs which have improved her everyday life, emerging treatments, and engagement with a caring and dedicated NF community.
Every step I take and every dollar you donate, brings better treatments, increased awareness, and a brighter future to Leah and her NF community. Thank you for your support!
