Step Up 2024 ○ Lakota's Step PUP for Recovery

My Personal Outreach Page
Hi, friends! My name is Lakota, and this year I’m Stepping PUP to help create communities free from the harmful cycles of trauma, substance use, and addiction.
Did you know??? Substance use can also affect pets like me. For instance, accidental ingestion of drugs like cannabis, opioids, or alcohol by dogs can lead to serious health issues or death. Luckily, the prevention and harm reduction strategies like the ones taught by my mom's prevention team at PEER Services can help protect pets from exposure to dangerous substances in homes and public spaces.
Step Up for Recovery is the annual fundraiser for PEER Services (Prevention, Education, Evaluation, Recovery – “PEER”), a community-based substance use prevention and treatment nonprofit committed to providing treatment to all in need.At our annual event, you can expect to enjoy music by local DJ Hooligan, refreshments, family-friendly activities, community health resource fair, drawings for some new and pretty awesome door prizes, free t-shirts and more! Plus, your contribution will help support the prevention and treatment efforts that PEER provides to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
This year, Step Up will be held along the beautiful lakefront in Evanston. It's the perfect place to go for a walk together, so I'm inviting you and your pups to attend the event as an honorary friend of Lakota: Please join me in supporting PEER’s critical work by attending the 1-mile walk and resource fair on Sunday, October 6th or donating to the cause! You can register or donate using the buttons at right. Each 4-legged friend that is registered here and attends the event as a friend of Lakota will also receive free treats and a special bandana to wear along the walk!
We can't wait to see you there! Thank you in advance for doing your part to Step PUP for our community!
