I want to express my heartfelt thanks for taking a moment to visit my fundraising page.
This year, I'm walking with extra purpose as The Children's Heart Foundation celebrates 30 incredible years of funding research that saves lives and changes futures. My commitment to making a difference has led me to participate in the Congenital Heart Walk, an event that carries immense significance for me—especially knowing that for three decades, CHF has been the leading force behind the treatments and surgical advances that help children with congenital heart defects thrive.
It's not just a walk; it's a stride toward the next 30 years of hope. This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation's crucial mission—advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research that improves survival rates, reduces complications, and helps Heart Warriors celebrate more birthdays than ever before.
I warmly invite you to become a part of this milestone journey by supporting my fundraising efforts. As many of you know, my daughter Emily, was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) in utero at 24 weeks. Our journey from there has been full of ups and downs but thankfully Emily is 8 years old and doing amazing. She has had 3 open heart surgeries and 5 cardiac cath lab procedures.
There is no cure for Emily's CHD only the set of three palliative care surgeries to hopefully give her a long, happy life. In May 2021, she underwent her third planned surgery, the Fontan. While this is exciting to think most major surgeries are behind us (hopefully) it’s also a little bit scary to think if she needs further intervention a heart transplant may be our only option. We are trying to change that by raising money for The Children's Heart Foundation to increase research for more options not only for Emily’s future but also for all kiddos with CHDs!
We hope you will join us on September 26th for the walk at Queeny Park! Please consider joining our team and/or making a donation. No donation is too small; even $5 helps! Without donations and research these surgical options would not have been available to my Emily. Thank you for joining our team and donating to this life saving organization.
Together, we can raise the funds essential to continue the life-saving research that turns heartbreak into hope. Your contribution holds immeasurable value to me and to every family who needs CHF's support.
Thank you for your generosity, and for standing beside me in this mission. Your support means the world.
