Things change almost every day due to Covid-19. We must keep getting the important things done! Please help me support Mount Washington Observatory. This year there will be no line of hikers up Mount Washington, no tours of the Observatory, no celebratory dinner nor awards ceremony. Following the advice of staying local and not getting oneself in a situation where a rescue would be long and arduous, I have changed my hiking plans for Seek the Peak 2020.
I plan to hike all three trails up and down Green Mountain in Effingham, New Hampshire, in one day. I have lived in Freedom and Effingham since 1983 and hiked Green Mountain many times. It seemed the perfect local mountain for me to hike. And, when I hike up and down all three trails in one day, along with the side trail to Hanson Top and going up the fire tower three times, I will have gained the elevation equivalent of hiking up Mount Washington!
Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to support my hike.
Since 1932, the nonprofit Mount Washington Observatory has been observing and reporting on Mount Washington’s infamous conditions from their mountaintop weather station, maintaining one of North America's longest continuous climate records. The data they collect is utilized in forecasting models, weather reports, landmark climate research and a variety of educational outreach. Through research and education, the Observatory is working to inspire the next generation of scientists.
Please join me in supporting this legendary institution by making a donation towards my hike. All gifts are fully tax-deductible, and will help Mount Washington Observatory continue their important work in the Home of the World’s Worst Weather.

Good luck hiking up Green Mountain 3 times! I think Zammis would like to stay home, however ;). Best of luck reaching your goal in support of the Mount Washington Observatory!
Pray for good weather and no corona virus !
