Rita McCormick died February 21st, 2019, one day after receiving the official diagnosis of CJD.  Her Journey lasted 4 days shy of 4 months, though we only saw her decline for the last 2 months.  

Rita's legacy is not her death from CJD.  It is all the lives she touched in her 64 years of life.  It's the husband of 49 years and 2 weeks, her 2 daughters, 2 son-in-laws, 3 grand children, nieces, nephews, sisters, brothers, cousins, extended family and countless friends that were all family to her.  

This disease devistated her family and now we want to make sure we can support the finding of a cure someday.  We can't let this disease to continue to go on without a cure or the hope for one.  So many people have never heard of it, and we want to change that.  We want to spread the word, for Rita's sake.
