In January of 2019 I lost one of the most important people in my life. Nandy was my father in law, but more like a father to me. Whether we were eating steaks, playing dominoes, or just drinking johnnie black while smoking cigars, or all of the above, I always knew we would have a good time. He has taught me and guided me in more ways than I could ever thank him for. He is one of the most genuine people I have ever known in my life. They don’t make them like him anymore.
You can imagine the anger and sadness I felt when I found out that an extremely rare and currently incurable disease named CJD is what was quickly taking him away from our family. A disease for which there is currently no treatment, no cure, and is always fatal. I could only hope that we can prevent this from happening to other families.
