It is hard to believe he's gone.  We don't know why or how this disease happens, but it happens quickly.  My dad's was quicker than many (which I'm grateful for because he didn't have to suffer for very long),  I'm working through the grief but this fundraiser/walk is certainly a channel for questions, confusion and sadness.  I welcome questions about him, about who he was, about what we know of this disease...I pray that no one I know has to go through this with a loved one - or experience it themselves.  Whether we raise $5 or $5,000, I know my dad would be proud of us working toward finding some answers and joining with others who are going through the same grief.  It really does matter that we join together.  Time is so short...it's such a gift.  I want to make sure that some of my precious time is spent focused on helping to treat/cure/eradicate this disease.
