On November 19, 2019 I heard for the first time the words Creutzfeldt-Jokob Disease. I was confused, scared, and broken once I realized what this meant. On January 5, 2020 CJD took my mother from me. Nothing could've prepared me for how quickly she deteriorated or for all the unanswered questions I had. The CJD foundation was a huge source of strength and guidance at a time where my family needed it most. My mom was a spifire to say the least. Her energy was contagious and her love for family was endless. It was really hard to see her forgetting everyone and everything she loved her entire life in a matter of weeks. It was even harder to see her day afte day and smile knowing her fate. My heart ached everyday. The CJD foundation was there through our entire journey answering countless questions and always responding with genuine concern and kindness. Every year in October the CJD foundation does a walk to raise money to find a cure. Due to COVID, this year the fundraiser is virtual. Nothing can bring my mom back to us but with donations we can possibly find a cure so no other family has to face this devastation. Our family created a team in mom's memory, I'll Remember For You.
