This year, Strides for CJD will be a VIRTUAL event nationwide. While we’re not able to gather in person, we will unite in spirit to raise much needed awareness and funds for CJD and other prion diseases.

How to Participate:

  • Registration is $30 for adults, $20 for children 12 and under. Register by September 1 to receive your t-shirt by mail.

  • Set up a fundraising page and share it with all of your contacts via email and social media. Teams who raise $1,000+ fundraising by August 21st will be able to have a dedication included on the participant t-shirt.

  • Invite your employer, local businesses, and friends to become a sponsor. Sponsorships of $1,000+ made by August 21 will appear on the participant t-shirt.

  • In October 2020, wear your 2020 Strides for CJD shirt, post photos or videos of yourself and your family in Strides t-shirts, and spread awareness on social media. 

About Strides for CJD

On October 11, 2020 supporters of those affected by Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) will join virtually for the 3rd Annual Strides for CJD in memory of Bakersfield's 25th Mayor and EMS Pioneer Harvey L. Hall.

Strides for CJD enables families to pay tribute to loved ones and raise awareness of this rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. CJD is caused by 'prions,' proteins that can misfold in the brain, with devastating effect, including rapid mental and physical deterioration. Prion diseases are invariably fatal.

For the past two years, Strides for CJD Bakersfield was the Top Fundraising Site and Team Big H, in memory of Harvey L. Hall was the Top Fundraising Team in the United States. Help us keep the momentum going as we raise funds for the CJD Foundation to provide family support, medical education, and funding for research programs related to CJD.
