Evelyn Limoges Kendall was an amazing woman. She was fun, caring, generous, and loving. Evelyn began seeing doctors at the end of May 2019 due to symptoms of feeling "off balance" and just "off" in general. June was spent seeing three different neurologists and getting lots of tests done. By July 3, 2019 Evelyn was hospitalized, but with no real answers as to why she was experiencing these symptoms, or why they were progressing. Unfortunately on July 26th she was moved to hospice, and that was the day her family found out a spinal fluid test had come back positive for CJD. Evelyn passed away peacefully surrounded by her two daughters on August 2, 2019. She was 59 years old. THE CJD Foundation is an important part of the lives of Evelyn's family. CJD has forever changed their worlds, and they have chosen to participate in the mission to help find a cure, support other victims, and to honor Evelyn. The team name of "Evy's Butterflies" was chosen because Evelyn's close friends often referred to her as "Evy" as a term of endearment, and "butterfly" because that had a special significance for Evelyn, so much so she even had a small butterfly tattoo on her right foot. Evelyn felt butterflies represented a new slate, becoming something better than before, and we know now she has made her full and final transformation, an angel now with her Savior Jesus.
