Sami ❤️

Hi!  It's TK and it's time for me to take action to honor my niece Sami who lost her bright, beautiful life to the silent, dark disease that is CJD. Not much is known as to why someone gets CJD and it's time we change that. One day this young, beautiful mom of a new baby boy complained of blurred vision and forgetfulness and 40 days later we no longer had her. Help me help those who have chosen to uncover the why's so no other family has to endure the loss of a loved one to CJD.

About Strides for CJD

Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Funds raised support our programs including:

  • Our 24/7 helpline, support groups, conference, and other family programs throughout the year.
  • Research grants to help scientists make important discoveries and bring us closer to a cure.
  • Medical education to help raise awareness and understanding of prion disease.
