My main goal is to spread awareness of a disease called CJD or Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure and its symptoms present similarly to more common diseases like Alzheimer’s and Dementia, but much more severe. This disease resembles Mad Cow’s Disease.
Please help my family and I raise money for the National CJD Foundation and select Team Jerry Yaffa.
My father was diagnosed with this horrible disease in May of 2005 and died June 22, 2005. We wasted so much time going to the best doctors, the best hospitals, nobody could help. Finally, a neurologist from Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia explained he had CJD. A fatal neurological disease. He passed away three weeks later.
My father was a strong man! He lost a leg in an accident at work and survived. He lost an eye and damaged half his face in another accident and survived. He had a massive heart attack and survived. He never once complained. He kept smiling and always had a positive outlook. He showed me the importance of helping others and doing the right thing, no matter what the cost. I lost my mentor and best friend.
It's been my mission to keep his memory alive and support the foundation who helped my family.
Please give what you can to help find a cure, spread awareness, and help families in need.
Thank you again.
