Barbara Green was the matriarch of the family- our rock, the biggest cheerleader, rockstar volunteer and the best shoulder to lean on. She spent her life going above and beyond for others, and infecting the world with her laughter and wit. In the beginning of 2015 we discovered something was off when she started to lose her memory, couldn't form her sentences correctly and was getting lost when driving. She was diagnosed with CJD and in November 2015 and December of that year we lost her. After her passing it was difficult to find a place to come and take her body for the funeral because the funeral homes "didn't want to catch the disease". People came into our home with hazmat suits because they weren't sure if she was "contagious". The CDJ Foundation helped us find a place to put our matriarch to rest and has been supporting us thoroughout our journey after the fact.  With the help of the CJD Foundation we have found a new family. The support, education and walk are crucial to finding a cure for this disease. Please support our team so the CJD Foundation can continue research, support the families affected by the disease and spread knowledge. We will forever miss our rock, but we will continue to advocate and spread her light so the world can experience a sprinkle of Barbara Green.
