Our Team Fundraising Page

I'd like to invite you to participate in the Strides 4 CJD walk in honor of Lisa Marie Dunnagan who lost her life to this horrible disease on January 28, 2023.  Lisa dedicated her life to helping others in many ways. She started a well know organization in Bakersfield called "Back the Badge" where she was able to give back to officers from all Law Enforcement organizations in Kern County and beyond.  She provided love and support through fund raisers, gift cards and random acts of kindness.  She was loved and respected by all whose lives she touched.

I hope you will join us in honoring Lisa on October 15, 2023 at CSUB from 9-12, and help us find a cure for this terrible disease.  #livelikelisa

About Strides for CJD

Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Funds raised support our programs including:

  • Our 24/7 helpline, support groups, conference, and other family programs throughout the year.
  • Research grants to help scientists make important discoveries and bring us closer to a cure.
  • Medical education to help raise awareness and understanding of prion disease.
