He was loved by everyone that knew him, and loved them just as hard in return. His sense of humor, his laugh, and his loyalty were like no other. He gave his family everything he could, and even others he didn't know.

Those that know his story know that, like many others with CJD, it was filled with a lot of questions, little answers, and was hard to grapple with. We know he would want us to keep up the fight. Because of this we ask you all to help us out by keeping his memory alive both by holding memories of him close and by helping us spread awareness of CJD in hopes that one day we can see a cure and save others from enduring this monster of a disease.

About Strides for CJD

Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Funds raised support our programs including:

  • Our 24/7 helpline, support groups, conference, and other family programs throughout the year.
  • Research grants to help scientists make important discoveries and bring us closer to a cure.
  • Medical education to help raise awareness and understanding of prion disease.
