Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure.  This event pays tribute to loved ones and raises funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, to provide family support, medical education and research programs.

CJ Smith was diagnosed in July 2007 and passed away on September 7, 2007 at the age of 59.  CJ was a brilliant, hilarious, kind, fun-loving woman who was taken too soon by this monster disease.
