Our family misses Paul every minute of every day. CJD took him from us on May 27, 2021, he was only 53 years young. Though the money raised won't directly help him, it will go to research for a cure and support for families like ours.  Our hope is that someday loved ones will not have to face this nightmare we did.  We appreciate any and all donations to the CJD Foundation in memory Paul and all those who have been lost to CJD. I can’t express enough how much I appreciation this foundation, they gave me guidance every step of the way, whether it was connecting me with organizations, financial institutions, healthcare assist, or just listening as a supportive ear.  This team is exceptionally knowledgeable and done with such compassion.

Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, to provide family support, medical education and research programs

We hope and pray that we can stop CJD from taking any more family members the way it took mine.

CJD is a heartbreaking disease. Typical symptoms include personality changes, anxiety, depression, memory loss, impaired thinking, vision abnormalities, insomnia, difficulty speaking, difficulty swallowing, myoclonus (sudden jerky movements), impaired balance and falling, tremors and weakness. The duration of the illness is generally a few months to 2 years, but most of the time death comes within one year of the onset of symptoms. Can you help us?
