2019 after a fun fmaily trip to Georgia for a family reunion, Kim can down with what she could explain as being in a constant fog. She thought it was something simple and shook it off. After 3 days of this fog she told her children she was going to a Medexpress to get checked out. After being seen she was taken to the hospital with high blood pressure and they began to run tests. Everything for stroke, heart attack and anything else they could think of was tested and came back negative. the first of many hospitals diagnosed her with stress.

Kim was not getting any better, she was no longer able to use her cell phone, having trouble talking, walking, balancing a check book or driving. She was a manager at a local events center in a casino and was struggling with simple jobs as rolling silverware. Her son took her to another hospital and they ran tests and could not find anything wrong as well but knew somethign was wrong but sent Kim home again.

One night while at home visiting with a friend Kim got even worse they called her PCP whom stating to take her to the ER. From there they ran more tests and did a spinal tap then sent her off to a major hospital in Pittsburgh. From there they had the findings of CJD from the spinal tap. Kim stayed in the hospital for a few days and then her loving husband brought her home for hospice care.

Kim died 3 days later with her loving family by her side.
