Kathy held her Catholic irish roots close to her heart as she graduated from Notre Dame in 1977 and spent most of her roaring 20's in the Windy City of Chicago, IL. In 1990 her and her husband moved to St. Petersburg Florida to raise her kids near her mother. 

Kathy was an amazing mother, wife, daughter but especially an amazing friend. She always put others needs above her own and made sure to live everyday like it was her last. Working for United Airlines customer service for over 25yrs, she traveled the world in the most spontaneous way possible. Showing up to the airport with her 2 daughters and husband in tow and no flights booked, she lead them onto the next available flight going around the world. When she wasn't traveling she was taking care of her mother, who passed away at 98yrs old just 2 months after Kathy's passing. She lived life with her "Million-Watt Smile" by always looking for the best in people which resutled in her being everyone's best friend. 

In October of 2020 she showed her first signs of CJD symptoms (loss of balance). By Dec. 2020 she was losing her memory. In Jan. 2021 she was diagnosed with CJD. She ended her fight on April 13, 2021. One of the last things she said to her family was "we will always be together, but I'm going to go to heaven and you have to keep on living". She lived her life to the fulllest and loved unconditionally. We will honor her everyday by doing the same with her always in our hearts.

For those who don't know about CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease) it is a fatal brain disease that results in loss of brain function, memory & mobility. There is very little knowledge of this disease because of how hard it is to diagnose, how rare it is, and how short of time one has once affected. For the sporadic strain there is no known cause, treatment, or cure. Please help us fight this horrible disease!
