My name is Denise Chainey and I have been involved with Strides for CJD since 2017. CJD is genetic in my family, to date I have lost my grandfather Frank, my uncle Sibby, my cousin Frank and my cousin Janis. It is so important to me to spread the word and raise awareness of CJD. The more awareness the better chance for a cure. i take great pride in leading the Boston Strides Team, i started this for my family but along the way I have met so many wonderful people who have been touched by this horrible disease. I feel like my family has grown, losing a loved one to CJD, GSS or FFI immediately bonds you together, we understand each other's loss and pain. We know what this disease is capable of doing to a person and we all have the same goal - Cure CJD !! That is why I Stride, that is why we Stride.
