We are doing this walk is for my Grandma who passed away last year from a devastating fast form of dementia CJD. There currently is no cure or way to slow the progression. My Grandma was diagnosed and passed away about 6 weeks later. It was very unexpected she was otherwise in great health. Donations go to the foundation that does research and supports families dealing with this disease. Miss you Grams! ?

Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.
