I walk in memory of my dad, Ray "Radar" Kinder.  As most of you know, my dad passed away 5 years ago from CJD.  I watched first hand the destruction this horrific disease has on a loved one and it is heartbreaking to know there is no current cure. Each year we walk to raise funds and awareness for the CJD foundation.  Please join me in honoring Radar and supporting all families affected by this disease.

Facts about CJD:

• Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) is a rare, fatal brain disorder within a group of illnesses called prion diseases.
• The incidence of CJD cases worldwide is one to two cases, per million individuals, per year.
• There are three known types of CJD: Sporadic (unknown origin), Acquired (less likely) and Genetic.
• Rules vary by country, but in the US, blood relatives of those diagnosed with CJD are not permitted to donate blood or organs including all future generations.
• CJD is often misdiagnosed because it mimics other diseases/disorders such as Dementia and Alzheimer's.

My dad was an amazing, kind and generous man. He deserves to be remembered for a life well lived.
