We lost our rock, Nathan, to this dreadful disease over 2 years ago.  It feels like yesterday.  Families who face CJD are left without resources or support to help them navigate the unimaginable symptons that lead inevitably to a cruel death.  The CJD Foundation is the go to agency, the only agency, that offers needed comfort and advice.  

These walks not only support the Foundation financially, they provide a healing atmosphere for those who have lost loved ones. If Nathan were here, he would be leading the march, organizing the team members, and seeking a cure.  He was a tireless leader, an adoring father and grandfather, and the best husband anyone could imagine.  This disease took him way too soon. 

Please help us honor Nathan by supporting the Strides for CJD.  His team is called Team Nathan because that is what we called all of our healthcare professionals, friends and family who visited, stayed at our home, and helped us through this frightening journey.  Thank you.

Premier, Diamond, and Platinum Sponsors will have their name or logo displayed on participant t-shirts, the Strides for CJD website, and signage. Gold Sponsors will have their name or logo displayed on the Strides for CJD website, and will have their name (not their logo) listed on participant T-shirts and signage. Silver and Bronze Sponsors will have their name listed on the Strides for CJD website only.

About Strides for CJD

Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Funds raised support our programs including:

  • Our 24/7 helpline, support groups, conference, and other family programs throughout the year.
  • Research grants to help scientists make important discoveries and bring us closer to a cure.
  • Medical education to help raise awareness and understanding of prion disease.
