CJD has devastated my family — we’ve lost my cousin Frankie, my grandfather Sibby, and most recently, my mother. It’s a brutal disease that takes your loved ones within weeks. My mother was full of life, always making us laugh and lighting up whenever she talked about her grandson Dylan or her new great-niece Nora. Just a month after her diagnosis, she was gone. We desperately need more funding for research to better understand this disease and one day find a cure — no family should have to go through this. This is the reason why I’m walking — to help raise funds, spread awareness, and fight for a future without CJD.
