Individual or Small Group Run/Walk

Some family members and friends who do not live near a Strides for CJD location choose to participate virtually. Joining Strides for CJD virtually is easy to do: Register, create a fundraising team, and invite others to participate and donate to your team. Share your personal fundraising page and/or your team fundraising page via email, social media, and other means to invite others to join our cause.

Each person who registers by Wednesday, August 20^th at 11:59pm Eastern time will receive a participant t-shirt. Share photos of you using the hashtags #Strides4CJD, #CureCJD, #CurePrionDisease, and #CJDFoundation in October to draw attention to Strides for CJD and to our cause.

Collectively, virtual fundraising teams have been one of our largest Strides for CJD fundraising participants nationally, and are a core part of raising awareness and raising funds to support the CJD Foundation!

In addition to fundraising virtually, you may want to gather with a small group to walk in your community.

You and/or your family and friends can register individually or as a small group, and run/walk in your community any time on October 4^th or 5^th or October 11^th or 12^th.

Families have done barbecues, cornhole tournaments, mini golf game, pub or pizza events, yoga in the park, and many other kinds of gatherings. If you plan to walk or celebrate in any way in a small group, be sure to:

• Follow local regulations: A few individuals strolling in your t-shirts or gathering at a park is likely permitted. If your group grows in size, does the park or community require a permit, an application, insurance, or some form of advance notice? Is insurance required? Are you permitted to collect donations on the premises?
• If you are planning an event for a large group, including other families in an area that is not your own property, please clear the event with the CJD Foundation. The CJD Foundation may be considered responsible for the event if you are gathering with Strides for CJD signage or t-shirts.
• Contact the CJD Foundation with any questions about your planned gathering. We will be happy to help you navigate!

• Register by Wed., Aug. 20th 11:59pm ET to receive a free Strides for CJD t-shirt with your registration.
• Registration costs $30 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under thru Thurs., Sept. 11th at 11:59pm ET. After that, costs jump to $35 for adults and $25 for children 12 & under.
• Online registration ends Thursday, 12:00pm ET the Thursday before your event. After that, you can register on-site the day of your event.
