My life has always included and been influenced by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My uncle Jeff not only changed my Mom and Dad's lives significantly leading to their careers in Special Education, but in turn he lead me to my 25 year career serving his peers. My uncle loved Johnny Cash, trains, his day services in the Bay Area, going to McDonald's with my grandpa and I, putting the dishes away every night! Boy how we used to argue over what records to play in Grandma's basement! I am so thankful to all the people with disabilities who have taught me life lessons, challenged me, allowed me to serve them, and been friends. 
Additionally, to the staff who provide direct support and work tirelessly in this service system. I see you, I've walked in your shoes, and I'm committed to fight to help others see your value.
