My C.A.R.E. Story
Many of you know that I love animals. Last year I started volunteering for a wonderful animal rescue organization, Community Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.). It wasn't long after I started volunteering that I adopted the first dog I walked, Elsa, who is a beautiful and sassy little terrier. I was impressed with the passion and dedication of all of the volunteers I encountered.
C.A.R.E. is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization that rescues and rehomes animals into safe, healthy, lifelong homes. This is what I feel makes C.A.R.E. unique. C.A.R.E.’s rehoming approach takes into consideration the needs of the rescued animals together with the expectations of the community and adopters we serve. Special care is taken to match animals with the right adopters. C.A.R.E. is a “limited access, unlimited stay” organization. This means that rescued animals remain with us until the right home is found. C.A.R.E. continues its commitment by being an available resource after the animal is in its new home. This approach has resulted in a 98% successful placement rate. Last year C.A.R.E. found homes for 344 cats and dogs. C.A.R.E. also has a food pantry that provides pet food at no cost to families in need.
Strut for Strays is one of C.A.R.E.'s largest fundraisers. I hope you will consider supporting the cause I am passionate about. My goal is in raising $500 by September 17th. Thank you in advance for your support!
