Our 29th Annual Strut for Strays is a hybrid event, with a kickoff and in-person walk at McGrath Evanston Subaru, or do your own walk at a time/place of your choosing!
Those who would like to Strut with other C.A.R.E.™ supporters can join us at McGrath Evanston Subaru on the morning of September 7. We’ll walk 2.5 miles on the Northshore Sculpture Path.
For those who are remote or don’t want to gather, you can do your own virtual event between September 7 - September 14. Pick up your swag at the September 7 event, or one of our other pickup events, or choose to have your swag shipped to you.

In 2023, C.A.R.E. helped re-home 404 pets at a total cost of more than $220,000 (it costs at least $500 to prepare just one pet for adoption).

Additionally, C.A.R.E.'s Pet Food Pantry has grown exponentially during the economic downturn to help pet owners in need keep their pets at home.

Everyone! The great thing about a hybrid in-person/virtual event is that everyone can participate from anywhere! Adopted a C.A.R.E. pet but moved away? You can register and then walk in your own neighborhood!

Virtual Walk in your own neighborhood and we’ll ship your Strut Swag to you!
*Goodie Bags guaranteed to the first 200 registrants. Every registrant will get a shirt featuring the Strut logo. Shirt sizes not guaranteed.
Registration closes on 9/7/24 at 12 am, walk up registrations welcome at the Subaru kickoff.
FUNDRAISING PROGRAM
All participants are encouraged to register as Fundraising Participants and create a page, with the goal of raising enough money to sponsor one or more dogs, cats, kittens, or puppies. The average cost for veterinary care for adult dogs and cats is $300, and $500 for puppies and kittens.
You can also create a team and invite your friends to join and fundraise for your team. The team with the most money raised wins a prize (details TBD).

Pick up your Strut Goodie Bag and T-shirt at one of our events. These events will take place outdoors.
Saturday, September 7 from 9 am to 11 am
2.5 Mile Walk at McGrath Evanston Subaru, 3340 Oakton St., Skokie.
Come walk with us and other C.A.R.E. Supporters.
Walk option: Northshore Sculpture Park Path from Oakton Street north to Dempster Street and back. Download map.
Parking: Park behind the Subaru Dealership, if the lot is full, you can park in the lot that is West of McGrath Evanston Subaru.
