Seventeen years ago, I was in active treatment for breast cancer. My profile photo was taken during that time. Sitting beside me is my dad — my rock — who years later lost his life to lung cancer. It’s a reminder of why I continue this work: because cancer still takes too much from too many.

Every year, more than 2 million people worldwide and over 300,000 in the U.S. are diagnosed with breast cancer. Despite decades of research and billions spent, far too many still die — about 42,000 every year in the U.S. alone. We can and must do better.

That’s why I’m raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Coalition’s Advocate Leadership Summit in Washington, DC — a gathering that trains and empowers advocates to influence research, policy, and funding at the highest levels. NBCC’s mission is simple but bold: to end breast cancer. We push for accountability in science, ensure patients have a voice in research decisions, and fight for access to quality care for all.

I’m dedicating 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser to scholarships for advocates who can’t afford to attend the Summit — so that every voice, from every community, can be heard in the movement to end this disease.
