It takes a village to raise a child. When we found out Holden's diagnosis Ken and I found ourselves going through the stages of grief. It was hard to hear, especially given the stigma of being different.
It is that stigma that has driven us to actively do more. This year we are participating in the Live Learn and Play Superhero 5K. We are walking in hopes to help society understand our son is so much greater than a diagnosis. We are walking to bring awareness for him and for every person with an autism diagnosis.
The saying it takes a village is magnified when you are raising a child with autism. It takes a small army built of family and friends that want to see our son excel. Now I am turning to you, our small army of Holden's heros, and asking you to help us succeed in our goal of raising $1000 as a team. Every little bit helps and we are truly grateful. If you are able, we would love it if you could join our team to walk besides us. Each step brings us closer to our goal.
