I am a member of The Maria Regina St. Vincent de Paul Society. We help people in our community with life’s basic necessities: food, shelter, clothing, medical care, etc. The Society helps all people regardless of their race, religion, or background. “No work of charity is foreign to the Society.” “Need, not creed” determines who is helped, and how. Our 16th Annual Friends of the Poor Walk is our largest annual fundraiser. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 21st at Heckscher State Park in East Islip. Your donation could make an enormous difference for those right here on Long Island living with the effects of poverty and other life altering hardships. All funds raised will provide our volunteers with the resources they need to help fellow Long Islanders in need.
