A 6th grade girl in my cabin walked up to me on the first day of Swift Summer Camp in 2019. The first time I met her she refused to talk because she did not want to be at camp for the week. Slowly the sad, quiet girl became the social butterfly of our cabin. After the first activity at camp, she was nonstop smiling for every activity that followed. She even made it up the rock wall, which she thought she could NEVER do. It was heartbreaking to see how sad she was to say goodbye to all of her cabin mates and newfound best friends. As the buses were taking off, she told me that this was “The most fun she had ever had” and couldn’t wait to come back again. This is just one of the thousands of kids whose life Swift has changed for the better.
I have been volunteering for the Swift Youth Foundation since the fall of 2018 and my life has been transformed ever since. Through all-year programs including Swift After School, Swift Saturday, Swift Carnival, and Swift Summer Camp, Swift Youth Foundation provides kids with constant fun, which they may not have gotten without Swift. Swift makes sure that each kid has the necessary supplies they need for their comfort, including sleeping bags and toothbrushes. The organization also ensures that they satisfy their hungry bellies.
