Maya Schwedt

In just one week, Swift Youth Foundation changed my life in unimaginable ways. I went into this session never having been a counselor before, nervous and knowing few other people. Immediately I began to make friends with the other counselors, especially my cos. Not only did I meet some of my best friends at Swift, but I was also able to make an impact on the lives of people around me. My campers were some of the sweetest girls I have ever met. They all taught me new things as well as new ways to look at experiences. Saying goodbye to my girls left me in tears, but it also left me wanting to make a larger impact and become more involved with Swift. Through this year, Swift Youth Foundation has taught me leadership skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and looking through different perspectives. For that, I am truly thankful and I cannot wait to continue learning with more people.
