Although Swift impacts most kids through Camp Swift, my swift story is about the annual Swift holiday party! At this event, we hosted a party for a second grade class, and were fortunate enough to give gifts to every child! Throughout the party, there was one boy who did not want to participate, no matter how many sweets we bribed him with. Instead of building his gingerbread house, he sulked and watched his friends construct houses and eat the candy. As the party continued, the boy became more and more withdrawn, refusing to speak to anyone. At the end of the party, we gave him his gift and watched his face light up as he tore apart the wrapping paper. He thanked us and said the monster car and slime were the best gifts he has ever recieved and that he usually does not recieve gifts. For the rest of the party, he was joyous and talked about how much fun him and his siblings were going to have.

We were able to provide him with a gift due to generous sponsor donations. Some of the children that we work with in Swift don’t come from a stable homes and don’t get to eat 3 meals a day. Thanks to Swift, some kids are given the opportunity to go up to camp where they are able to get 3 meals a day. Other kids benefit from the year round support of teen mentor programs and after school programming. Swift’s programs incorporate the development of essential life skills such as character building, leadership training, goal setting, and teamwork. We need your donations to keep Swift running so that these kids can get support in their lives. Even just a small donation can have a huge impact in a kid's life.
