$mart Women Make Change! is Junior Achievement's signature event to benefit our work with girl-serving partners that inspires and prepares young people for economic success. Since 2006, JA has partnered with organizations in North Florida to deliver Junior Achievement learning experiences to more than 20,000 girls that foster work-readiness, financial capability, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

JA inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy.

Mission

To prepare girls and young women for economic success by providing hands-on experiences and educational opportunities that honor, value and celebrate the female perspective, experiences, and unique development.

Goal

To increase knowledge and build skills in financial literacy, workforce preparation and entrepreneurship.

Junior Achievement teaches girls to:

  • Gain personal insight into career paths
  • Identify their personal brand
  • Understand the skills needed to earn a job
  • Become tomorrows leaders
  • Develop their knowledge of personal finance to apply strong financial-management skills regardless of income.

Deloris O’Neal - Chief, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office

Deloris O’Neal joined the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office in September 1997 and currently holds the rank of Chief of Police Services.
 
During her 25-year tenure with the Sheriff’s Office, O’Neal has served in various areas of the agency including: Patrol, Investigations, Personnel and Professional Standards, Community Affairs and Special Events. 
In her current role as a member of Sheriff T.K. Waters’ staff, O’Neal serves as the Chief of the Support Services Division where she oversees the daily operations of several areas of the agency including the Communications Center, Information Systems Management section, Supply, Property Room, Facilities, Security, Fleet and Public Records.  Read More...
