Texas Humane Heroes is excited to invite you to the 2nd Annual Tails and Trails Hike! You, along with your family, friends, and pets, are invited to join us on April 18th from 10:00–11:30 a.m. Register today to be the first to receive event updates.

Early Registration Bonus:
Registration is FREE through the end of February! Beginning March 9, registration will be $10 per person.

Bring your family, friends, and pets for a fun-filled hike through the 22-acre property that Texas Humane Heroes calls home. Along the trail, participants can enjoy a scavenger hunt, adding an interactive and family-friendly element to the experience. Don’t have a pet—or is yours not the walking type? No worries! This event is open to everyone who wants to support Texas Humane Heroes.

The walk will begin and end at the new building at the front of our property. The route follows on-site trails, which are generally easy to walk but may be challenging for those with mobility limitations. Please let us know if you may need accommodations, and we will do our best to assist.

Click the REGISTER TO WALK button to get started. A personal fundraising page will be automatically generated upon registration and can be customized and shared with friends and family. Consider making a donation when you register to kick off your fundraising—and earn some goodies along the way!

All pets participating in the event must be leashed and friendly. You are respnsible for picking up after your pets.

Who is Texas Humane Heroes and what do we do?

Texas Humane Heroes (TXHH) is a No Kill, private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization celebrating forty-five years of finding forever homes for pets in need. (est. 1979) We work with shelter partners throughout Texas to rescue adoptable dogs and cats that are at-risk of euthanasia.

Our mission is to end pet homelessness. How are we doing this?

  • By providing low-cost spay/neuter —stopping overpopulation at the source
  • With high volume adoptions —stopping the flow of homeless animals through preventative efforts and adoption efforts to achieve a no-kill community
  • Pet Retention Services —stopping the lost and surrendered flow of pets to shelters by providing low cost, accessible services for better pet guardianship (including micro-chipping of all animals)
