Henry’s Heart Healers
Henry was born with a critical congenital heart defect known as Tricuspid Atresia. In short, this means his tricuspid valve never formed. Due to the lack of the tricuspid valve, blood was not able to travel from his right atrium to form his right ventricle. This leads to his next diagnosis, Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome. Instead of 2 functioning ventricles, Henry only has one. Essentially, he only has half of a functioning heart.
Thanks to surgical and medical advancements, Henry has a great prognosis. He has undergone 4 open heart surgeries to help reroute the way his blood travels through his body. He has another planned surgery around the age of 3 or 4, and that will complete the single ventricle surgical palliation.
Donations made to The Children's Heart Foundation help give Henry and so many other children born with congenital heart defects the best chance at a full life.
