TCS Auction Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions about this year’s auction? Well, we’ve got answers! Here are some of the most common questions we’ve been hearing:

1. Can children attend the event?

While it is always so nice (and cute!) to have an event where all of our children can attend, the auction has typically been and remains a “grown-up” event. We appreciate your understanding and will look to plan more kid-friendly, whole-family events in the future.

 2. How much are tickets?

While there was originally a tiered pricing structure (i.e. early bird vs. regular admission), the decision was made to make the price $75 for all attendees who are parents of current students, parents of alums, or are family and friends.

3. Can I view and bid on auction items even if I don't plan on attending the in-person auction event?

Yes! You and any of your family or friends can register for $0 to participate in the silent, online auction. You can do this by going to this link 2024 Takoma Children's School Auction, selecting “Register For This Event,” and then selecting the free “Silent Auction Only” option.

4. I have family and friends who would like to help the school raise funds but don’t want to bid on items. If they want to contribute to the school, how might they best accomplish this?

TCS will be creating a new playground –a very costly undertaking– because the old space is being developed. Any donations to help with this would be greatly appreciated!

They can make a donation in one of two ways:

Go to the auction webpage, 2024 Takoma Children's School Auction, and click the “Donate” button at the top right of the page or the “Donate Now” button at the bottom. From there they will be taken to a screen where they can make a secure donation directly to the school.

OR

They can register for the silent auction only (see instructions on this in the response to question #2) and contribute directly to our playground funds or enter a raffle once there.

5. How can I participate in the silent auction remotely or in-person?

You should download the Givi app (the purple one)! Givi will link to the auction and allow you easily check out all items, bid, and receive notifications on bid changes.
