When Covid closed down the schools, it was a scary time to be a parent with a child whose success is dependent on the structure of the classroom.  Camphill and the teachers of Camphill went to work and successfully built an online curriculum to support Emmett and all the students of Camphill.  Like everywhere, it came with great challenges, but through every step of the way, The Camphill School was supportive, encouraging, understanding and enthusiastic.  

The highlight for my husband and I, was the 4th grade play that was rehearsed and performed virtually.  Emmett was Thor and we were so proud to hear him read his lines and proudly raise his hammer high.  

Emmett was so excited to arrive back on Campus this fall.  The challenges of Coivd are still very real in the educational setting, but Camphill has found a way to engage the children, despite that.  We are so blessed to see Emmett happy.  He emits joy when he rattles off the names of his classmates, and now he is able to do that without hesitation or prompting. He is proud when work arrives home and he is quick to have it hung for the family to see.    Emmett’s math and reading skills are flourishing, but more importantly, he is back in an environment that sees him for what he can do, rather than what he can not.
